The Porcelain Art Club of Houston is a nonprofit organization founded to serve porcelain artists / china painters of the greater Houston, Texas area. The club provides opportunities for members to expand their knowledge while enjoying the society of others who have like interests. The art-form encompasses a wide variety of painting styles and techniques. Some of us are "beginners"; some of us have "been around" for awhile; and though we may have painted for many years - we all are lifetime students of the art-form, happily chasing the next thrilling challenge. We paint porcelain with special "overglaze" minerals which we mix with binders; we fire our pieces in a kiln for permanency and posterity; we study art, chemically based techniques and brush-strokes; we teach the ages-old artform to interested others; we read about porcelain art, we collect it, we sell it, we give it away!
